There are many more birds to see than just the Whooping Cranes! Depending on the time of the year, we have American Avocet, Great and Snowy Egret, Reddish Egret and (very rarely seen White Phase Reddish Egret), Great Blue Herons, Little Blue Herons, Black Crowned Night Heron, Roseate Spoonbill, White and Brown Pelicans, Magnificent Friggett, White Ibis, (very rarely seen Glossy Ibis), Curlews, Oyster Catchers, Black Skimmer, Sanderling, Laughing Gull, Ruddy Turnstone, Snowy Plover and many more!

In the spring of 2007, we were able to see and photograph the nests, with chicks of various sizes, of the Snowy Egret, Reddish Egret, Spoonbills, and Great Blue Heron. This is a fantastic tour of Rookery Islands in the Spring/Early Summer.

Location

The Jack Flash departs from the Sea Gun Marina, located at 5810 Hwy 35 North, Rockport Texas. The marina is 9 miles north of Rockport or 6 miles north of Fulton, just over the Copano Bay bridge and immediately on your right. Our dock is number 9B, the last door (or most southern) of the brick building.
